I stumbled on another "2012 End of the world" TV documentary on the history channel a couple of days ago. The whole time I kept thinking about Nadav Kander's "Chernobyl, Half-Life" collection.
There are some really amazing photographs that I think do this place justice. He really captures the emptiness of the area with some beautiful shots. The whole gallery is on his web site.
